Girls' travel team tryouts for the 2025-26 season will be held over the course of two different weekends. Athletes will be required to attend both Saturday and Sunday sessions on ONE weekend, depending on their age group. All girls' tryout sessions will be held at the Covenant Upper School's Hickory Gymnasium.
Athletes trying out for girls' 15U-18U travel teams will attend tryouts on Saturday, August 23, 2025 and Sunday, August 24, 2025. Athletes trying out for girls 12U-14U travel teams will attend tryouts on Saturday, September 13, 2025 and Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Athletes should attend both days of tryouts to receive a full tryout evaluation prior to team placement. Athletes age 10-19 who are eligible to compete on U12-U18 teams may tryout. Athletes in the 11U age group are welcome to tryout for our 12U age group. Tryout times will be based on the athlete's age group. Please review the age definition chart below to find your age group.
Athletes will try out with all other athletes in their age group (11U with 12U athletes). They will not try out for a particular competition level. When registering, athletes will be asked what levels of competition they would consider playing for. This allows players with time or financial limitations or players looking for a high level of commitment to express their interests. Occasionally, a player may receive an offer for a level of competition they did not select should their tryout and team needs align such that we feel they could best grow within and add value to a different CAVC team. It is our goal to provide exceptional training and opportunity for all levels of student-athletes!
Tryout Times
Players should attend the appropriate tryout sessions based on their USA Volleyball age group (see above USAV chart to determine age group). Review the chart below carefully:

Athletes must attend the tryout sessions for their age group on BOTH Saturday AND Sunday of their tryout weekend in order to complete their tryout.
If an athlete is unable to attend any part of travel team tryouts due to a direct, previously planned, and immovable conflict, contact us at charlottesvillevolleyball@gmail.com to discuss the possibility of an alternative option.
Levels of Competition
CAVC offers three levels of competition, Club, Power, and Elite. Each age group may offer teams of one, two, or all three of these levels of competition, depending on the demand and level of play of athletes at tryouts. Tryout Registration
Tryout registration will open on Friday, June 20, at 8:00 am ET. Registration is required to participate in tryouts. Please click on the link below to register. Tryout registration costs $159. For athletes that register by July 31, a special early bird rate of $139 will be offered. Tryout registration will close on the Wednesday prior to your first tryout session.
